I caught her act, and this is a joke from her act that she repeated on Letterman. No idea if this is true in her real life, but she at least has heard of it.

Truth be told Cinndunc, I wish I could remember the exact references as well. Since we all kind of have an ear for any time the word spanking comes up, I can just recall there have been a handful of occasions where she has made a joking reference to spanking or getting spanked in some fashion. Since I really haven't watched her show that much, these references have probably come in interviews or skits that were done on Kimmel or some other show like that. They weren't of any good substance or anything, just a joking mention of the word here or there. My ears, probably like most of ours here, take heed and pay attention when a mention of spanking occurs, and I have her on my "mental list" on celebs who I have always suspected as a spanko due to the number of times I have heard her mention it. If I can come across or recall with some more specificity, I will certainly pass along.

I would love to hear those other references, if you can remember them. I've only heard two. From "Tough Crowd", which is documented on the SF&R main site, and now this one on Letterman.

This is multiple references she has made to spanking (I can count probably a half dozen that I have heard her mention with boyfriends/parents) and I don't even watch her too much. There is no doubt in my mind that she is a spanko to some degree, so I wouldn't doubt for one bit that something like this is true.

Yeah I doubt it's true. I've temporary red hand prints, but never a hand-print shaped bruise. The palm could obviously leave a bruise, but the fingers and thumbs? Has anyone else seen one?

it might have not been exactly "i was not spanked" but more along the lines of her parents were not harsh at all and she got away with everything.

I'm almost positive on she said she wasn't spanked in a serious interview. I can't remember if it was Playboy or "Fresh air" on NPR.

Ha ha, that was great! My favourite comedienne, too.
She once made a joke about her parents spanking her, growing up, too. Paul put it on the main SF&R site as if it were fact, but I suspect she was just making it up for comedy reasons.
She makes up a lot of things for comedy. For example, she says she's had three abortions (abortia?) and might get more if there's a sale...
