The law is not changing back yet.
This is simply the results of a non-binding referendum, with a loaded question.
80% of New Zealanders voted Yes on the question: "Should a smack as part of good parental correction be a criminal offence in New Zealand?"
I am pro-spanking, but that question is ridiculously biased, and shouldn't affect the law. Besides that, it seems to only deal with one-smackers :)
