If there is no love, passion, communication or intrest for one another, two people should not stay together for the children. It may cause the children more pain to see your unhappiness.

Staying in a marriage for the kids

The best reason for staying in a marriage is because you love your spouse. Obviously, it is ideal that both parties in a marriage love one another. However, even when there is a lack of love, staying in and giving your best to a marriage for the sake of children is a selfless and moral course of action. Unless the relationship is so destructive that it is actually of more harm than good to the children, the kids should have a vote in a family matter as important as the status of the marriage of their father and mother. After all, they (the children) are as much a part of the family as anyone.
