Well, that is more than what NECVL used to state in their by laws. While I'm sure the league will revisit officials fees, the tourneys I've ran over the past three years have averaged around $525. If you want to pay officials more, be my guest.
<p>Don't forget to pay them their gas fee for mileage traveled to get there.

Only a team that sucks would say something like lets not worry about the score...whoever you are you must suck. Go sit on your thumb and join a powder puff league if you are afraid of the final score.

Can someone just run a friendship Tournament with players as the referee's? All we are looking for in preseason is to get tuned up-who cares about the score.

We at Fairfield were told refs would cost $50 per game. With two 4 team pools, (6 games per pool), that's $600 just for pool play. $200 more for semi-finals and finals if the finals have an up and down ref. If you give the winning team their money back, and assuming the host team doesn't pay, charging $125 will get you $750 per team; not enough to cover a full ref squad. Also, if you have court costs, or are paying someone to be the tournament director, that's more money. So I don't think he's trying to pocket anything.

Well, it does cost approx $525+ for an 8 team tourney just for refs. (According to NECVL rates) That's saying all 8 teams actually pay and show up. Some level of coverage is needed over and above so the club doesn't lose money for actually trying to get teams playing in the fall.

Tough words coming from someone who doesn't post thier name, team or anything else.
I never said we were good last year (others on my team tried talking us up), that obviously wasn't true.
Personally I feel we are much better this year, and I'd love for you to come play us and judge us them. I'll be looking for someone name 'bullshit police', p.s. - for some reason I attempted to email you but for some reason you wrote it was 'wow@wow.com'. Tough to take a comment seriously with no one to back it up. Be my guest, come play - I'll let your team in for less if you have a huge problem with the money. Feel free to email me, my email is strazz@gmail.com - or call me. Later bullshit police.

No team is going to fine tune their skills playing you guys. And 125 per team is not just to cover cost becuase it isn't 1000 for refs and you don't have to pay for the gym. You can admit that you're going to make a little money. Don't be such a pussy.
