I have never seen a message board powered by another server NOT have character limitations. I think 2000 max is pretty generous. I appreciate the fact that what Pliner is doing is giving folks who don't want to spend big bucks the opportunity to have these nifty items without the hassle and fuss of providing their own servers, programming skills and CGI/PHP/SQL headaches.
By the way -- Thankyou, Pliner.

Thank you for your great suggestions. To answer your questions:
* There is currently no limit on the number of messages your message board may have.
* The maximum message size is up to the creator of the message board and ranges from 250 up to 2000 characters.
* The e-mail address is currently a required field.
We are reviewing your suggestions for future enhancements to our message boards. Thank you for your feedback!

I've been looking around for a free, no pop-up ad message board service and found this one. From what I see, it looks decent and pretty much was what I was looking for. But since you asked for some feedback, may I suggest you allow user name sign ups? Also, what are your message limits meaning at what number of messages do you cut it off and allow the old ones to be erased and replaced by newer ones? Making the e-mail address mandatory is also very annoying. Especially when you didn't request to be notified by e-mail if someone responds. And I don't think I've ever encountered a message board that limits characters to a post. That's kind of dissapointing and limiting. These are the qualms I have with this free message board service. Otherwise, I'd say job well done.

Dear pgk22@drexel.edu,
I don't mean to be short with you, BUT for the benefit of those fine Pliner Prospects who read your comments and thus will try and locate Ikonboard; these are two VERY DIFFERENT approaches to OPERATING a D-Board! One is a SERVICE the other is a PROGRAM SOFTWARE. The SERVICE, though it may lack in appeal compared to the other, is HOUSED on the service provider¿s server for free (Pliner). The other though VERY SHARP in appearance and performance, is to be HOUSED on YOUR server but would probably end up being programmed onto your WEB-HOSTS' server for many EXTRA FEES because not only does the Ikonboard program contain THOUSANDS of files (some of which are 1500K UNZIPPED) but after its' installation, the operation of it would take up MUCH MORE space!
SO unless you have the EXTRA BUCKS to buy your own server and install t-1 lines to your home or office, I suggest using a D-Board Service such as PLINER! AJM

We plan on continuing to improve and evolve our applications, and listen to customer feedback. If you have any ideas as to how we can improve our applications, let us know. Also, we have other applications besides the messageboards.

Just wondering.. But do you expect this product to compete with Ikonboard? There's also UBB, but that's hideously expensive as opposed to free... So as an aspiring Computer Science student, tell me, what will you do to make your program better?
