Thanks for the detailed answer! I am based in London - is it possible to send sms's to a London based provider? (I'll get the details from them)
Thanks

Every wireless provider is different; we recommend that you contact them for support on this issue. They will be able to tell you your text messaging address, and whether or not you'll be charged.
Most wireless providers have plans that give you a certain number of free messages per month, and charge you a few cents thereafter to send or receive (though receiving is usually cheaper.) Please note that Pliner.Net is not responsible for any charges incurred by having messages sent to your phone.
Generally speaking, your text messaging address will be yournumber@provider.com, or something similar. Here are examples for a few common providers:
Verizon Wireless: yournumber@vtext.com
Sprint PCS: yournumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Nextel: yournumber@messaging.nextel.com

Hello
I would like to receive an sms when my site goes down, but I don't understand what I need for :"Use your mobile phone's text messaging address for instant alerts!"
Where would I find my phone's text messaging address? How would I find out if I would be charged for a message or not?
Thanks
