Size depends on the type of fishing your doing. basically there are live bait hooks for live pin fish, shrimp or pilchards. Then you have long shank & short shank hooks. Each package of hooks are marked with a number. The most common size I use in saltwater fishing is #5/0 live bait hook & #2 hook for bottom fishing. I also like to use long shank hooks #7 or 8/0 hooks. Hope this answered your question. Thanks for visiting the message board, Capt Sal out!
