Noticed your email about class of '66-- They were the first
graduating class but came from Lakewood-- 1967 was first class not to have attended Lakewood-- Being in the band I remember playing
for that graduation and also my own in '67-- Also attended the '68
graduation-- dated Linda Schaefer and '69 my brothers graduation year--
By the way Ken Gomany from Class of '66 is a Judge in Alabama and for a short time interum State Treasurer - Ran into him in '76 when he was apartment hunting-- told me AV from class of '67 worked in Montgomery---- SMALL WORLD

Thanks Nial, I will look in yearbook. What do you do up in NW NJ? I always loved it up in that part of the state. My husband and I go tubing on the Delaware when we get a chance. Kittatinny campground. We went to summer camp in Stokes State 4H camp. Gotta turn in now, I get up at 5:30 to go to work. Bye

Debby:

Maybe Walt will chime in here, but just in case he doesn't, "Walt" is Walter Morrison from our class of 1968. He lives up here in northwest NJ near me.
By the way, I like the 2009 Miata, but I like my Miata better. It's paid for! ;)

Walt:

With my old MG, I was the Rodney Dangerfield of the Jackson High parking lot. No respect.
Telmosse's car was a later version of the Austin Healey 3000. Today, a nice version of his car is worth about $60,000. A nice version of my ratty old MGA is worth around $20,000 today. I sold mine for $60. ~CLICK HERE~ to see an old picture of my MG (the ratty red Triumph was mine too).
I had forgotten all about Tinker, but I know exactly who you mean. Funny to remember stuff I've forgotten.

Reminder to everyone:

If you want to send a private e-mail to someone here, just click on their name (on the right side of the page).

And.....I'm still waiting for pictures.
I already have some nice ones, but really need more to make a photo page worthwhile.
Scan an old picture if you don't want to send a recent one.

Keep me posted with all the news I love to hear it. Keep the comments going and to all be safe. Sounds like we have a very wide variety of personalities, and that life has been good to everyone.

Wow! Great to see such activity on this message board! (Hi Gidget!).

Kids:
Do me a favour and tell other early-year Jackson grads about this place. Even if they are not exactly from the 1968 class it doesn't matter. The more folks we can get to join in, the better chance we'll have to hold a reunion with a mix of the early classes. It would be great to get together with some of our old pals from '66, '67, '69, '70 etc.

Also, will you all please send pictures! ~CLICK HERE~ and go to my "Send Pictures" message for more details about this.

Debby:
I've been a sports car person since I was a young child.
I was born in the UK and as a child, my father always told me about the old, classic British MGs.
When we lived in Canada, a neighbour of our's had a new, turquoise '56 MG (the MGA model). I was completely smitten by it.
When I was a 16 year-old senior at Jackson High, I bought an MGA and drove it to school.....even before I got a license. It was in terrible shape and a lot of my friends would make fun of my ratty MG, but I had great fun with it.
I've had many sports cars (mostly British) in the last 40 years. Some have been dreadful and some have been nice....but they've *all* been fun.
I bought a new Miata a few years ago. Wish mine had the hardtop! I also have a lovely ~1969 MGB~ that I drive in the Summer. And we have the '67 Austin-Healey Sprite, but that's not a street car. It's for vintage racing only.

Hi Donna,

I could never forget you. How are things going? I am in Jacksonville, Florida, but trying to transfer back to where I call home. New Port Richey, Florida. I moved there in 1985. But have been in Jacksonville since 2002. Drop me a line, loved to hear from you.

I didn't know you were into sports cars. I finally bought my first dream car in 1996 to see if I really wanted one. I bought a 1993 Mazda Miata MX5. Drove it for 6 years and my husband ordered a 2002 with all the options black and tan with removable hardtop. Of course more horse power. ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM. I have two now. I have been driving them for the last 14 years. I always wanted one in high, no money. Finally got my wish.

Now Navy, how many ships have I been on........... since my husband was a Project Test Engineer I was able to tour several classes of attack submarines, destroyers, battleships, air craft carriers, to him it was all in a days work. To me working at the navy shipyard has been a life experience. We also traveled to Pearl Harbor, Puget Sound, Charleston, SC, Washington DC, Kittery Maine, (love that lobster) San Francisco, especially liked Fisherman's wharf. I accompanied my husband on most of his trips and while he worked I toured. For now I have to work until July then on the road again. P.S. If you have never driven on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. in a sports car, do it. They love the hair pin turns. Bye for now

Alice: Glad Jon is taking good care of you. Hope you are on the mend so we can try another reunion.

Deborah:
Sailing on the USS Roosevelt must have been The Bee's Knees! I'm jealous! We like to visit the Intrepid WW II aircraft carrier in NY harbor......it's great walking across the huge deck and I love seeing all those old airplanes (I own a WW II airplane). We've also been on the battleship "New Jersey" in Camden harbor and I've slept on a WW II battleship at Battleship Cove, Mass when we were on a Boy Scout trip. Great fun!
If possible, we also travel as much as we can. We are hoping to travel back to Ireland and England soon...we were there to visit relaltives a few years back (I emigrated from Ireland when I was a little kid).
Glad you like this message board. We should certainly all try to keep in touch.

Donna: I think Oscar was the first love of a LOT of Jackson girls! ;)

Oscar: I've been busy!

I watch my new grandaughter on Mondays. She and her parents live 80 miles from me (unfortunately), so that takes up some of my free time each week (but I love doing it).

I am also racing my tail off in road races and vintage sports car races here in the northeast. I wish I was towing down to Sebring, Fla for the big vintage race next weekend, but can't get away from work for that long [Note to Self: Retire Soon!]
My folks *just* sold their house! Thank Goodness! They are very happy with the new retirement place in Manchester (and I'm happy because I was carrying the mortgage on their new place until they sold the old one).
It would fun to get together in July...write me as the date gets closer.
I don't think this site supports a photo page, but I can easily set one up on one of my pages. Just sent me photos and I'll put them up with a simple link to click on this page.

For example of how this link would work, ~CLICK HERE~ to see some of my car stuff.

Here is a picture (below) of us at St.Pat's Day this year....I'll be happy to put up pictures of anyone in one of our discussions here or on a separate, linked photo page....just send digital photos to me.

Hi Nial, I didn't know many students in the classes after 68. I moved from New Jersey in Jan 1971. Your website is great. I like to read what everyone has been doing with their lives. Maybe we can keep it going and all stay in touch. It would be a shame to retire and just sit around and wonder what everyone else was doing with their retirement years. My husband and I do a lot of traveling too. My greatest trip was a family cruise aboard the USS ROOSEVELT. We went 100 mi or so out to sea and the USS REAGAN accompanied our tour. It was the height of my career working for the DOD. Keep in touch. Deborah

I was wondering where everyone went, Nial, you have been keeping a low profile, there has to be something new in Hillsborugh, '' not sure of the spelling.
I am still in Florida however, not feeling too floridian tonight, it's like 30 degrees here, heat is kicking and I sometime wish that I didn't get rid of the gloves and ear-muffs remember those?
Just want to say happy holiday's to all, Maria, Big John, Alice, Rosalie and all you guys, I would invite you all here however, I think your warmer there for now.
By the way, Debbie Wilson, did you by some long shot live on Citadel Dr in Brookwood 2, I had a great friend named Luanne Wilson that may be a relation.
Maybe we can spark up the site again, any trivia?
Nial, did your mom sell her house yet, is she still at Sherry Park Homes, I will be there in July maybe we can all get together.
By the way, you know what would be a great idea, a photo album spot on the site that we can post pictures of family and friends and vacations, something to think about.
Always,
Oscar.

Deborah:

"Oscar" is Oscar Olmeda.
He is a Jackson grad from a few years after 1968 (I forget which year?....maybe 1970?....maybe Oscar will chime in here).
He lived out passed the Cassville part of Jackson.
Near me, Charley Weber, Mary-Alice Gilligan, Lydia Barcello, Ginny Lawhead, etc.
Oscar's first wife was Sue Fitzpatrick, a '68 Jackson grad.
He lives in Florida now, with another gal from Jackson.
Oscar's a good guy and he seems to really know what's going on in Jackson more than many early grads. I get down to Jackson about every three weeks or so, but he seems to know much more about the old place than I do!

I was Debbie Monnesson's childhood friend in Jackson. We were blood sisters. I ended up graduating from Lakewood High School. I am now living in Rhode Island. Please help me get in touch with Debbie. Mickey and Laurie would probably remember me if anyone is in touch with them.
